The superorder Salientia (Anura) includes TOADs, frogs and their close fossil relatives The closest living relatives of the Salientia are the other amphibians, salamanders and caecilians. The TOADs and frogs outnumber both of these groups substantially; there are 162 living species of caecilians, 352 living salamanders, and 3438 species of TOADs and frogs.
